How do I help my clients?
My work with clients is based on the particular needs and current life situation a person is experiencing. I specialize in the reduction of depression, anxiety, and stress; trauma, eating disorders, sexual and gender identity questions, relationship problems, and issues of low self-esteem. I provide short and long-term therapy. I work well with ongoing issues from childhood, focusing on individual strengths and coping skills.
What results do my clients get after the first session?
The first session is usually an introduction to my therapeutic approach. It includes clinical interviews and setting goals for our work together. It allows us to understand if our work together could be beneficial for you. By studying how your experiential world of emotion, cognition, and behavior is constructed and patterned, we can work together to find new ways for you to live, love, and relate to the world.
What's unique about my work with clients?
My approach to therapy is warm and enthusiastic, highly collaborative and efficient, with emphasis on attunement to you. My goal is not only to help decrease your symptoms but also to help you understand the deeper roots of the problem. Relational psychoanalysis focuses on the relationship between therapist and patient so that the patients can understand themselves better.
